The growth of online business means that with $150 you can get into dropshipping, for instance.
I am on a journey to becoming a millionaire. I am going to do it right here, in Africa, the poorest continent on earth.
On my journey so far I have learned a lot and have encountered a lot of obstacles that I have learned from. I am sharing that information with you – starting today. This is so that you can have it much easier than I have.
If I can make it in Africa, then you have got no excuse not to try. I am starting with a brief overview of how you can get into an online business with little to no money. Today we discuss six ways in which you can get into online business.
The Cost Of Getting Into Online Business
Let’s get into why you should be considering getting into online business. The main reason is the low barriers to entry – Cost wise.
Below are 6 ways in which you can make money online – and the amount it takes for you to start. Remember, there are a whole lot more opportunities out there that I shall talk about.
The methods in this article require some investment – In the next article, I will show you how to make the money that you will invest, from close to $0.

Advertising As An Online Business
As examples, I will talk about using a website and an Instagram page as online businesses in the advertising industry.
Using A Website As An Online Business
Most people do not realize that you can now sell advertisements as an online business – in the same way, that your local television station sells advertisements that are aired during commercial breaks.
Months from now, when I have grown this website, I shall start showing advertisements from Google via its Adsense platform. Every time you see an advert I will be getting paid – right here in Africa. I hope the advertisements will not annoy you, they are part of the hustle.
All that you need to do is to start a website like this one. The next stage is to put content that readers like – an example is this article which is the first one on this website. After the website has grown, Google and other companies will pay to show their advertisements on this website.
The cost of getting into this type of online business is website hosting which costs $65 for a year from Bluehost.
Everything else is free – The theme that I used on this website is free. The plugins are free as well. The tutorials that I went through to know how to grow a website are found on the internet.
$65 and you are in the game.
Instagram As An Online Business In Advertising
Social media is a business. If you are not making money on social media, then you are the customer.
You can sell advertisements on big Instagram pages for a fee that starts at $10. You can get up to $100 for a 24-hour slot if you have a big Instagram page with a lot of engagement.
The main customers for Instagram pages for advertisements are owners of online stores or eCommerce stores. You are talking about Shopify and the likes.
The strategy is to build a theme page (a page that concentrates on a single topic) and sell advertising space to an online business that is in the same niche. For example, if you start an Instagram theme page about beauty products expect to be approached by entrepreneurs that have eCommerce stores that sell beauty products.
It costs about $300 to buy an Instagram page with good engagement from which you can start selling advertisements right away. I will explain more about this in another article.
The Affiliate Marketing Online Business Model
In the affiliate marketing online business model you sell products on commission. You would be shocked at what people are willing to buy online.
Commissions can be as low as 10%, and as high as 75%. The nice thing is that there is no limit to how much you can scale this type of business, If you ever dreamed of owning a big supermarket – recalibrate your dreams, because you are now operating on a higher level.
I shall be talking about how you can get into online marketing and how you can grow the online business. Today is just an introduction.
The main cost of online marketing is traffic. Other people use organic methods to get organic traffic. Organic traffic is traffic that you do not pay to get. Paid traffic is the other way in which you can get traffic.
I will show you how you can get cheap traffic if you are lazy such that you do not want to work on getting organic traffic. Typing these articles for you is a way of getting organic traffic.
Most affiliate marketing programs are free to join. The cheapest sources of traffic go for $30 a month. I know of a program like My LeadGenSecret that will give you 175 000 free emails to start sending your affiliate offers to.
So, the cost of getting into affiliate marketing can be $0. However, I will say $60 for a program like My LeadGenSecret that comes with important features like free traffic.
Blogging & Vlogging
Blogging is what I am doing right now. Writing articles about a certain topic in order to make money in various ways. Of course it’s about passion too, but a person has got to get paid.
By definition, a blog is a website containing a writer’s or group of writers’ own experiences, observations, opinions, etc., and often having images and links to other websites – dictionary.com
Vlogging is the same as blogging only that you use a camera to document your endeavors. The most popular platform for hosting vlogs is YouTube.
All of the ways in which money is earned online can be linked to blogging and vlogging. If you have read my article to this point you might have noticed a pop-up or two. If you sign up for any of those courses I get a commission. I only recommend good courses as you shall see in my course review series.
In addition to selling products I can also serve adverts on my blog and get paid by Google and other advertising networks. Another method is to connect the website to Amazon and sell products on commission, the list goes on.
To get into blogging you need at least $100 for the website and a course that will get you going in no time.
Vlogging is free. If you have a smartphone with a good camera you can start vlogging tomorrow. There really is no excuse.
Creating & Selling Digital Products
If you have a special skill that can make people money. Create a digital product around it and sell it worldwide.

This is usually for advanced players in the online business circuit. However, you can hire someone to put your thoughts into a product – much like authors do when they hire editors.

Drop Shipping As An Online Business
Dropshipping is when you sell goods online and get them delivered at a profit, without holding stock.
The products are bought on your website. After an order has been placed you get it shipped from suppliers on AliExpress to the customer. You get the profit after accounting for product, marketing, and transaction processing costs, among others. Profit in this business ranges from 20% to 40%.
To get going create (or buy) an Instagram page with a theme that is related to your product. The Jet Massager would do well on a big Instagram page that focuses on bodybuilding. If you create the Instagram page yourself it means you can get into dropshipping for next to nothing when you advertise your products on your Instagram page.
If you are lazy you can buy a big Instagram page for about $300. After you have gained some traction you can reinvest your profits into Facebook adverts to scale up your business.
You can end up making hundreds of thousands of dollars from nothing but an internet connection.
Survey & GPT Websites
I believe in there being something for everyone. I am not a fan of survey and GPT sites but there are some lazy people out there. If you are not ambitious, then this one is for you.
What happens on websites like Inbox Dollars is that they make you do surveys, play games, download websites, and other things for a small cut of their proceeds.
What you should know is that what these sites are doing is probably unethical. For example, they can pay you $0.002 to watch a video or visit a website page for 10 seconds. That means that some poor advertisers paid money to get views on their webpage and you are wasting that advertising budget by viewing websites that you are not interested in.
Getting into this type of online business is free. I will be reviewing such types of websites on my blog in the future.
Which Type Of Online Business Are You Interested In?
So, there you go. A broad overview of the types of online businesses that you can get into without spending a fortune. You will start to incur costs as you scale up your business but this will be later on in the game.
